I’m Matthew Josephson, a product-minded software developer and Digital Management MSc candidate at Ivey Business School.

I enjoy working where technology, design, and real-world problem solving meet—turning an unclear challenge into something useful, approachable, and built to last.

My interests are broad by design. I like understanding how a product works technically, why it matters to the people using it, and how it can support the goals of the organization behind it. That perspective lets me move comfortably between code, product decisions, communication, and execution.

My story

Learning by building.

My path into technology has always been hands-on. I have worked across full-stack software development, healthcare technology, research, community projects, and student mentorship. Each experience has reinforced the same idea: good technology should make someone’s work or life meaningfully easier.

That perspective led me to found TMR Services, where I help small businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations strengthen their digital presence without the cost or complexity of a large agency.

Working in a medical office has also shaped how I think about software. In that environment, a small improvement to document handling, information access, or an everyday workflow can save meaningful time. It has taught me to listen closely, understand the real process before proposing a solution, and build with reliability and clarity in mind.

Whether it is a healthcare workflow or a community website, I like making practical tools that can create a measurable difference.

Beyond the build

Technology is only part of the story.

Community leadership and mentorship are important parts of my work. Through SHAD Canada, student organizations, charity initiatives, and volunteering, I have had opportunities to teach, organize, support teams, and help ideas move forward.

I’m currently completing my Master of Science in Management, specializing in Digital Management at Ivey. The program is helping me connect technical execution with product strategy, business thinking, and leadership.

Outside of formal work, I’m drawn to projects that bring people together. My experiences in sports business, community fundraising, food-bank volunteering, and student programming have given me a wider view of leadership—one grounded in preparation, empathy, and following through for a team.
